The Great Artesian Drive is a journey into the heart of prime agricultural land, to the edge of the outback and through small closely woven communities, which follows the hot thermal bores like a dot-to-dot puzzle. Starting and finishing in Moree, NSW, the drive takes in seven towns where you can stop and soak. It’s an 815-kilometre round trip, taking a minimum of three days. March to October is the best time to do it, when cooler weather adds to the lure of hot water, and the region comes alive with festivals and events.
